SPI Ladder Leagues are no longer offered
Please check website for updates......
Ladder Leagues have been suspended for the Summer and Fall of 2020.
GENERAL INFORMATION
SPI Ladder Leagues are an opportunity for participants to play regularly scheduled pickleball in a competitive fashion with other players of a similar skill level. Leagues typically run for a set number of weeks. Each scheduled day players arrive a minimum of 15 minutes before play, enter their name and are placed within a bracket consisting of four or five players (dependent on the total number of players). Brackets of closely matched players are determined by results in cumulative ladder play scores. Consecutive games are played in a round-robin fashion with others in the bracket. At the end of each game, players record their scores on sheets provided by the Ladder Organizer. Player rankings are adjusted at the end of each game day. Balls and nets are provided by Saskatoon Pickleball Inc..
Ladder League players are encouraged, although not required, to come to all scheduled play times within the ladder league they express an interest. Players must have an active SPI membership to join in.

LADDER FORMAT
- A player’s initial ladder ranking is determined by their PCO/IFP Ratings or the best judgement of the Ladder Organizer
- Matches are doubles, win by one, played in consecutive games on a specified court
- Players in each bracket will be consecutive on the ladder or as close as possible for the players in attendance on any given day
- Brackets of four play a match of six games to eleven points allowing each player to have each partner twice
- Brackets of five play a match of eight games to nine points allowing each player to have each partner twice (but each sits out two games)
- Players move up or down the ladder according to their recorded scores. The highest scoring player in each bracket is moved up a level, the lowest scoring player is moved down a level and the middle two (or three) players are not changed in ranking. The Ladder Organizer is given latitude to adjust rankings in the case of lopsided scores.
- Players who miss several game days will find that others pass them on the ladder
- If the number of players exceeds the capacity of the courts, the Ladder Organizer will determine players at their discretion based on arrival time
